Test: Friday, September 2.
Monday: Silent sustained reading: predict. Spelling: lesson 1. Words need to be written 5 times each in the composition notebook. Notebooks will be checked on WEDNESDAY!
Tuesday: Silent sustained reading (SSR): question. Writing assignment: writing a friendly letter to your teacher about you. Handout will be given and will be reviewed in class on the expectation of the assignment. This will be in class work for Tuesday and Wednesday. Final copy will be due on Tuesday, September 6.
Wednesday: SSR: visualize. Composition notebooks will be checked for spelling. Students will continue to work on the friendly letter writing assignment.
Thursday: SSR: characterize. Grammar mini-lesson: nouns and pronouns.
Friday: SSR: connect. Spelling test: Lesson 1 will be given. Students will analyze a news article and identify nouns and pronouns from it.
NO SCHOOL: MONDAY, SEPT. 5.
Please be sure your child has a 3 ring binder by next week!
